Overview

The advanced DJ course polishes your skills, teaches you how to play on vinyl and prepares you to take the stage at your first DJ Gym DJ gig.

After taking the course, you'll have the confidence to beat match on any equipment, even vinyl, and perform like a pro in front of an audience.

Once you have completed the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced DJ Courses you'll then be ready to join the DJ Gym alumni and DJ at all the gigs we organise including Ministry of Sound, Egg LDN and the annual DJ Gym Ibiza Tour. Graduates also receive LSA accreditation.

Requirements

An in depth understanding of the content in our Beginner and Intermediate DJ courses. To benefit from our DJ gigs you need to complete Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. If you join us at the Intermediate level we recommend you also book the Elite DJ Course or a production course to complete the three.

1-2-1 Tuition

Lessons are all taught one-on-one from our Birmingham and Manchester studios. You'll never be in a group, and you can learn at your own pace.

Flexible Scheduling

There are four two-hour lessons that you can book any day of the week at any of our studios. All equipment is provided and lesson times are 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm or 8pm, once booked you can reschedule when needed.

Graduates Get Benefits

In partnership with LSA our graduates get gigs at numerous clubs including Ministry of Sound, Egg LDN and DJ gigs on our annual Ibiza tour. Graduates also receive LSA certification and join our growing community of DJs and producers. To graduate and access our DJ gigs you need to complete a minimum of three courses with DJ Gym.

You'll start learning how to use the Technics or Pioneer turntables in addition to refining your skills on the Pioneer CDJs and DJM mixer range. If you want to take it a bit further, you can also start learning how to use other bits of equipment we have in the studio or progress into the Elite DJ Course.

Plan for your first gig with DJ Gym. Start by preparing your set on Rekordbox with your tutors advice and make sure you’re ready to set the dance floor on fire.

Recap your pitch shifting skills and improve on your accuracy. Build up your speed until you can mix between multiple tracks with no BPM displayed.

Pitch Shifting Practice Vinyl

Learn how to apply your pitch shifting skills to your vinyl mixing. Build up your speed until you can mix between multiple records by ear.

Gig Preparation

Continue to work on your set list for your first LSA gig while your tutor coaches you with back to back mixing.

Pitch Shifting Practice

Practice mixing your set with no screen or technical aides making sure you can mix confidently by ear.

Multideck Mixing

Accept the challenge and mix with CDJs and Vinyl together, see if you can mix three or even four tracks at the same time!

Gig Preparation

Continue to work on your set list for your first LSA gig while your tutor coaches you with back to back mixing.

Final Tests

Make sure you are club ready while your tutor shows you all the most common pitfalls that can happen to newbie DJs during a live gig.

Continue to work on your set list for your first LSA gig. You may even record the mix if you have time.

Final Checks

Go through you course checklist with your tutor, fill in any gaps and receive your course report. Your certificate will then automatically be issued.
