DJ GYM ONES TO WATCH – RYAN BROOKS, AKA VOID

DJ gym alumni have been making inroads into the music industry ever since our launch and many students have been getting attention online and on the dance floor. In our first introduction, ‘DJs To Watch,’ we showcase Ryan Brooks, aka VOID.

Ryan is a DJ and electronic music enthusiast from Stoke-on-Tent, UK.  When not in a club mixing he’s at home learning new methods and techniques to expand his approach in the DJ industry. He found a love for his focus genres, Progressive House and EDM while attending some of the biggest music festivals including Ultra and Tomorrowland. Once his interest was ignited he looked to DJ Gym and tutor Marc Spence to accelerate his DJ career. He’s now graduated and has been gigging at prestigious venues including Ministry of Sound and is due to join DJ Gym in Ibiza. VOID is official #onetowatch!

“I searched online for multiple different options on how I could approach DJing and with a relatively small knowledge within music I was sceptical on where to go. I came across DJ Gym and after reading their reviews I was 100% happy to start a new chapter with them.

My tutor was Marc Spence, he took time to listen to his work before he taught me and I can’t thank him more for what he showed me. Marc was approachable and would always tell me how I could improve in certain areas and give me tips to help better myself.

I graduated DJ Gym in 2017 after completing all levels of the DJ course, after I finished I was provided with opportunities  to DJ in clubs such as the Ministry of sound in London. This was a huge step for me considering I didn’t know where my life would have taken me a few years back. They also offer their graduates a chance to play in Ibiza which I’m still keen to achieve.

Since completing my time with the DJ Gym I’ve managed to play a few events locally and still keen to expand to others areas. I’m now looking to return to them to complete the production course so it opens up other opportunities for me.
