Live Stream at DJ Gym Oxford

Stream your DJ mixes live from our Oxford studio

Oxford's number one DJ school just got better! All of our DJ Gym studios (Birmingham, Oxford and now Manchester) offer our students the chance through our DJ courses and music production courses to learn to DJ and learn to produce their own music, as well as have their own practice sessions on our state of the art equipment. However, I am excited to announce that our Oxford studio will now be able to offer our customers the opportunity to live stream straight from the studio as well. At this moment in time we will be offering audio streaming only, however, we will also be able to offer visual streaming very soon. So, let me tell you a bit more about what we're up to.

What is a DJ live stream?

First of all, let me just clarify what I mean by 'live stream'. A live stream is a live transmission of an event over the Internet. In our studio we would be looking to stream only music related content, for example live-mixes, online radio radio shows (such as Genius Radio Oxford) and live practice sessions of us DJing, and then would be able to progress to streaming visual streams of DJ sets and perhaps even live production sessions (whether that be on Ableton Live or Logic Pro X). When it comes to the types of music the policy is very relaxed, so all forms of dance music and electronic music are welcome as well as more underground genres. Our streaming service is also open to everyone, not just DJ Gym graduates, so whether you have only just started DJing or are a seasoned disc jockey, we are more than happy to help stream your mixes to the world.

DJ Gym Oxford Equipment

Equipment wise, you can use our decks in the studio, however, if you have your own DJ controller you are more than welcome to play music on that - just make sure you bring the necessary cables with you as we may not have them in the studio! Here is a list of tech to give you an idea of what you would be working with in the studio, here is the list of equipment available (of course you can bring your own):

2x Pioneer CDJ 2000 NXS2

1x Pioneer DJM-850 Mixer

2x Pioneer PLX-1000 Turntables

1x Blue Microphones Yeti USB Microphone

2x KRK RP6 G3 Monitors

1x Scarlett 2i2 USB Audio Interface

I hope you have enjoyed this blog about our new streaming services available at DJ Gym Oxford and I look forward to seeing you in the studio soon!
